We are excited to announce that backer surveys have been sent! You should receive yours in the next day or so if you haven’t already. Over 3,500 backers have already completed their surveys.
PRO is the New Standard: Of all the backers that filled out the survey, 92% of you chose a PRO while 8% stayed with a Standard.
Upgrade Me! 63% of the Omnicharge PRO’s are upgraded with at least one feature, Direct DC Output or Qi Wireless charging.
Back to Black: 81% of you like your Omnicharge to be black.
You have until the end of October to complete your survey, so you can revisit & make changes before then.
Quick Notes to Help in the Survey Process
- The survey consists of 4 parts:
- Customize your Omnicharge
- Add additional units
- Confirm shipping info
- Check out & account balance summary
- Please note that there is an 11 day delay before your order is confirmed by Indiegogo. Once that order is confirmed, our system will automatically import it & update your account to reflect your new pledges. For those of you that backed us before the campaign ended, you should be good to go.
- Those who have pledged for upgrades to the DC Output as well as the Qi Wireless Charging may need to select them again in the survey. You’ve received a credit that equals the exact pledge amount which you can use to cover the upgrade costs.
- Some of you maybe have pledged for multiple perks to receive multiple Omnicharges. In this case, you will receive only one survey invite but will have separate surveys. You will be able to switch between them to make all your selections.
- The converter tips that we provide cover the top PC laptop models so you can use your laptop’s adapter to charge your Omnicharge. In the survey we have listed the common computer brands & their corresponding pin sizes. If you don’t find your PC brand on that list, you can visit this link on eBay to find a larger reference table. For those that need a variety of converter tips, we are developing a utility kit that will be ready for holiday season.

We Are Finalizing Our Backer Survey
The survey will be sent out this week to your registered emails. To better serve our backers, we have partnered up with BackerKit, a crowdfunding fulfillment software for a smooth survey process. You’ll be able to confirm your shipping address, order details & get the upgrades you’ve been asking for!
Insights from the Community
Last week we did a survey to ask your opinions on the USB-C version. Thank you for your participation! Here are some of the results:
- The top devices that backers plan to charge with the Omnicharge are smart phones (32%), laptops (29%), tablets (19%) & cameras (11%).
- Over half of those who responded do not currently own USB-C devices, while 40% of backers either currently own at least one USB-C device or have plans to buy one.
- In regards to port preference, 62% opted for the barrel port, 17% voted for USB-C & over 21% of backers are still undecided.
We received nearly 600 comments providing great insights, words of encouragement & practical suggestions from you. Thank you for being such a supportive backer community!
Postponing USB-C Option
Due to the results of the survey & serious safety considerations, the team has decided to postpone the launch of the USB-C version of Omnicharge until there is a more unified industry charging standard. Our apologies to those who were looking forward to this option! Instead, the original barrel port will be the standard option for both Omnicharge models. We’ll include a fast charger, a USB-to-Barrel cable & a converter tip of your choice, so you won’t need to worry about finding the right cable.
We made this decision to make sure you get the best experience out of your Omnicharge. We agree USB-C will become a more universal standard in time & will continue to develop a more versatile USB Type-C charger for the future.
For backers with larger USB-C devices like MacBook, we suggest using your device’s original charger with the AC outlet on your Omnicharge. To charge smaller USB-C devices like smart phones & headphones, use a USB Type-C to Type-A cable with the rapid charging USB port on Omnicharge to get up to 15W in output.

Backer Survey Coming Soon!
We are still buzzing after our exciting campaign, but that hasn't stopped our team from getting straight to work in our fulfillment phase. Pilot production has already begun as our team ramps up for full production. We can't wait to get Omnicharge to you!
Over the past week, we've been compiling the Indiegogo orders of over 18,000 backers. The backer survey will be sent out in the next few days via email to help us ensure that you get your Omnicharge just the way you want it. Stay tuned!

- Our backer base is global! Around 75% of backers are from North America, 9% from Europe, 4% from Asia & 12% from the rest of the world. Backers came from 126 countries!
- Photographers, videographers & adventurers. These are the most popular professions amongst our backer base-- those who need their devices charged on the go.

At Omnicharge we care about power performance as well as the safety of users' devices. That's why we are reaching out to the community about the USB-C option for Omnicharge.
USB Type-C compatibility issues have been a hot topic of discussion. Recently, a Google engineer found that non-compliant USB-C cords could damage hardware devices & even battery explosions or fires. This finding led to a recall of USB-C products. There are incompatible USB-C charging standards & a lack of protocol from industry leaders like Google, Apple, Qualcomm & Lenovo. Incompatible USB-C to USB-C charging could have damaging effects to devices.
For these reasons, the Omnicharge team is debating whether or not to release the USB Type C version before the industry moves toward a unified standard. The USB-C version is still under development & we want to hear from our backers. Would you still consider the USB-C version & should it still be offered? Direct DC Output Now Supports 5.5V - 20 V!
Last week we introduced a new Omnicharge Pro upgrade perk. The universal DC Barrel Port can now directly output to charge other devices. We've been refining this functionality & are pleased to announce that the DC Output will now support any voltage between 5.5V to 20V with up to 0.1 accuracy. Users will be able to select their desired voltages which is extremely helpful for DSLR camera users.
